This is a 1979 Book Club Edition of Mission to Moulokin is a 1979 science fiction novel, the story follows human protagonists Ethan Fortune and Skua September as they continue their adventures on the frozen planet of Tran-ky-ky. After discovering that native Tran people are being exploited, they set out on a perilous journey to unite the planet's clans and challenge the powerful, corrupt forces at play. 
 
After a year of surviving on Tran-ky-ky following a crash-landing, salesman Ethan Frome Fortune and adventurer Skua September are finally heading to the trading post of Brass Monkey to arrange passage home. Their plans are interrupted when they learn that their Tran friends are being victimized by off-world profiteers and an insane, power-hungry Tran leader. 
Deciding to stay and help, Ethan and Skua, along with their icerigger crew, embark on a journey across the frozen landscape. Their goal is to unite the suspicious, tribal Tran city-states into a single planetary government, with the aim of gaining admission into the Humanx Commonwealth. Their mission takes them to the legendary, fortified city of Moulokin, where they hope to convince the planet's most advanced culture to join their cause. In Moulokin, they discover something that could change the fate of the planet forever.
